And Then There Were Read Throughs!

Hello, today I have an awesome blog for you! So Charlie came down and stayed for a couple of days with me at my caravan. So we did read throughs on the beach and I have a couple of pictures of it!

That's an arial view of me & Charlie reading through episode two of our show. I know we're on our iPods but we have the scripts on there & we are practising,
honestly.

Okay, so that's us to laughing at a joke in one of the scripts lol. And then there is just a random one of me and Charlie that I thought I would show you!

I love this picture, it reminds me so much of Jennifer & Bernie. So anyway, I'm going to go and watch Britain's Got Talent. Speak to you later, I'm sure Charlie will post one with a couple of photos.

Photo Shoot...

So, on Wednesday I'm off to Wales to see Abbie! Wahoo!

And, because we're going to be together, I thought we'd do a little photo shoot for the show! Hopefully we can get two of the other characters down, but we aren't sure yet. So stay tuned yonder some exclusive photos and behind the scenes footage!

Picture Time!!

Hey guys. So me and Charlie ain't actually seen each other since May 1st. But I went to say with her last year and we did a little filming on "The Casebook" (see my blog "The Idea..." for more information) since Me... and The Other One (or MATOO as I like to call it) hadn't actually been thought up at the time. So anyway, we'll skip past the boring stuff and skip right to what this blog is all about! This picture we took! (In between me having coughing fits and filming)

Do you like it? That's me (right) and Charlie (left) in the car filming! Charlie added the little bit at the bottom since "The Casebook" isn't been filmed anymore. So that's basically all that I did this post for.

Check out the site because now we have interviews, character Profiles and more! We will be adding a gallery as soon as we have more pictures! So stay tuned! (Charlie: You really have to stop saying that! Abi: But I like it!)

Until then check out mine and Charlie's blogs on our 365 day challenge (Charlie: That doesn't look quite right. Abi: It's not my fault I have dislexia and can't spell. Charlie: Surreee!) I'm sure when me and Charlie are togeather there will be MATOO (Charlie: You were just dying to use that, weren't you! Abi: Yes! Charlie: I still don't get what it means! Abi: And i'm the stupid one.) pictures that we will put up!

Thanks and come back soon to see another blog. Love you all (Charlie: You do? Abi: No, I just want them to think that! Charlie: Oooh. But if you wanted to make them think you loved them why'd you say you didn't out loud? Abi: Aw man!)

Over the Rainbow...

I think (Abi: Don't do that!) that I may have got my Mojo back!

I had an idea for an episode :D If only I could think of the sub-plots we'd be onto a winner!

I - Cor, a lot of I's today. I'm going to stop talking about myself and start talking about something awesome.

If any of you are script writers, like myself, you probably understand the annoyance when you cannot take your laptop woth you, meaning you can't finish that blockbuster you've been working on.

Now, like the fairy godmother in the Wizard of Oz, I shall grant your wish and give you....

Scripts Pro!

This is a screenshot of the programme from the iTunes store.

If you're fortunate enough to have an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad, then this is the app for you. Simply take buy the app (Or try it for free, search Scripts on the app store) and start writing.

Now if you have neither ofthe fun Apple gadgets... I'm afraid it's paper for you.

So that's all folks.... I can't think of anything else to write! xD

Don't Bleed on my Parade

I awoke with this song in my head today... Hence part of the title.

The second part, 'Bleed' is easily explained... I had a blood test today.

So, I have some very, very, very, very, very (Charlie: Do you think I emphasised the very enough? Abi: JUst one more), very sad news.

I have lost my interest in writing.

It's an apostrophe. (Abi: Hang on, that didn't sound quite right...)

I love to write, but I don't want to do it anymore.

Just go and hang me now. (Abi: I'll get the noose. Charlie: NOT LITERALLY! Abi: Aww man!)

But, I think I have a soloutin.

The 365 days of short stories. Everyday I write a short story, it'll be a big task but it might get my interest back. I'll do a blog so people can read my rubbishness. (Abi: Is that even a word? Charlie: It is now)

I'm sorry for such a random blog. I just thought I would let you know.

SNEAK PEAK TIME!

Since you've all been good, I'm going to give you a sneak peak.

Episode 18 (Series 4) is going to be started with this song...

If you work out why we are using the song, I will send you a script of your choice to read. Comment to be included!

Well, Well, Well!

Okay, so I haven't done a post in ages, and I don't really know why! So I figured I might as well try doing one, and actually finishing it this time!

So hello, my iPod came back today, so I will be able to do more posts now with "Blog Press" which is awesome!

So I wrote an episode, I love it and I think it has a pretty cool end-of-series cliff hanger! (not to boast like) The only thing is, now I have been putting off writing any episode because of only having 8 episodes left to write! And I love writing, I mean it's so fun, right? But I'm no good at books, and I can't see the point in doing screen plays - that I will put so much effort into - just to sit around getting dusty! So what do I write when I am finished with "Me... and The Other One?" Blogs? But there not episodes! And it's not as fun.

What do you lot think I should do?

Okay, so now I am bored with that subject so let's roll onto something new! - The episode I wrote the other week is entitled "The One With The Unthinkable" doesn't really give much away does it? So I figure since now I have told you that (and it didn't give anything away) I might as well give you a script extract! Sit tight while I find... ah! Here it is!

CONRAD
That’s just like… unthinkable.

Oh my gosh, that's the only bit I could find! Looks like that's ya lot for now! Do you like it? No? Well tough, I ain't taking it out, changing it or giving you more script parts, that's not part of my job description! (Abi: Actually, where is my job description? Charlie: I don't know, we lost it! Abi: We lose a lot of things don't we? Charlie: Yes, it's part of the job description! Abi: How do you know, you lost it! Charlie: Hm.) So now that insane thing is over! Just because today I feel generous, I am going to give you another part of the script - but just cause I'm nice!

They all walk back into the living room with there drinks. Chris then knocks on the door.

CHRIS
Hello?

And on that note, I am going to say goodbye until another day! Hope you have fun figuring out what the episode is all about! (Charlie: Do you think they will? Abi: Charlie, it's called "The One With The Unthinkable" of course there not! Charlie: True!) I will speak to you later have a good evening/day/night (have i got them all?).

Abbie x

P.S. By the way, I don't know why this post is called "Well, Well, Well!" I just couldn't think of anything else! Bye!

The One with the Mad Hatter

Well hello un-suspecting victims, sorry readers.

I thought I would just do a little post because I haven't done one for a while...

Abi and I did some read throughs over the phone last week, which were hysterical. Soon we'll be doing it with the whole cast in June, so by the end of June there should be a few episodes on the site for you to have a giggle at.

We're going to have a good few weeks for filming soon, and I am so excited! I think for the first few scenes we do they're goin to be a lot of outtakes, but once we get into it should be ok XD

Well that's all I wanted to say, Hope you all have a great week!

Burnt Soufflé and Brown Custard.

So now, I have to try and top that epic post we did yesterday. -Gulp-

Now, if you're having a good day, and the last thing you want is a burnt soufflé and brown custard, I would run away now. Because this is just one of those grumpy blogs.

'Why are you so grumpy today Charlie?' You kindly asked. Quivering in your nice warm boots.

I am having a bad day with my M.E, so because of the pain I am very grumpy. And because of my grumpiness, I can't write properly. And because I can't write I get even more grumpy.

And so is the circle of life.

Blah.

I don't know about you readers, but I am getting very impatient. I want to watch series one already! If only Abi and I didn't live five hours apart, we would be on series 3 by now...

Okay, so ideas!

I am like, very excited to film the behind the scenes bit, they're like my favourite bit of the DVD's. So, I have a few ideas such as:

  • Music Video
  • Interviews with the Cast
  • Blooper Reel
  • Making of Me...and the Other One
I did think of more but because of my M.E I have forgotten them XD

So, readers, if you have an ideas for what you would like to see on the special features, please drop a comment, and your idea will most probably be used!

Talking about comments (Abi: Here we go... Charlie: Abi, this is my blog, go away! Abi: Going...), the comments on our blogs are... dry. I am one of those people who like to know what people think... especially of a piece of writing I have just done, so if you could all just... say something. I would be very grateful XD

And now, I shall leave you.

I apologise for the big grey cloud now floating over you.

And in the End...

So last night, Abi and I did some brainstorming... and finally, we came up with the last two episodes of the show. Of course, we can't tell you what happens, but we can give you a little sneak peak into what it's about...

The two episodes are very eventful... full of crying, laughing and... clumsiness! Lots of surprises are instore, which will keep you on the edge of your seat. Just try not to fall off the sofa!

'So how many series are you planning on doing?' I hear you ask. Well, currently, we are only planning on doing four series, that's approximately 24 episodes in total, although there may be more, we aren't sure yet.

'That's not very long, can't you stretch it out a bit?'  Well, which do you prefer, quality or quantity? Obviously you would like a few great episodes rather than lots of boring episodes.

So now... we will stop tormenting you, because it's just... wrong. (Charlie: FUN. Shut up Charlie. Charlie: Sorry...)

And... DRUM ROLL. (Abi: BRUUUUUUM. Charlie: What's that? Abi: Drum roll. Charlie: Sounds more like a helicopter.)

We would like to say, (Abi: BRRRRUUUUUUUM. Charlie: Abi. Abi: Sorry.) the website has been updated. So now, you can enjoy interviews, character profiles and if you become a member, scripts! (Once the episodes have been released on video.) So run, that's it, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN, to the Official Website of Me...and the Other One.

Soon, (Abi: Soon? Charlie: Yes.) we will be releasing behind the scenes videos, only for the lucky members! They will include read throughs, (Charlie: You can't get a better sneak peak than that. Abi: Yes you can. Charlie: What? Abi: The actual show. Charlie: Well, yes. Hm.) video interviews with the cast, a day in the life of Charlie and Abi (Abi: I can't wait to see what happens! Charlie: Hmm.) and more!

So stay tuned!

Sorry. We seem to over say that.

Charlie and Abi x

Long Distance Friendship... Just Great!

So Charlie lives four hours away, and we want to do a TV show together but we never seem to see each other - until today! I got to see her, even if it was only for a couple of hours.

So I spent an hour (give or take) talking to her... and then I get dragged away with no hope but to see her again until next year, well that's just great isn't it! - I have no friends where I live (except some more of my cousins who like about half-an-hour away, which I guess isn't that bad) so she is all I got (and her sister of course! She is awesome too).

But never fear! She texted me and told me that she is coming down either this month or next! So hope-fully we will be able to do some filming then! Anyway... should I talk about writing? I guess so...

Well, I have an idea for the last episode in series 3, so I think I am going to go write the first scene. Oh joy, another episode that I have to scrap because it's just ridiculous. You see, I'm not a very good writer! (although Charlie seems to think I am.) I think, I am going to start this new episode with the line:

BERNIE
Yes they will!

What do you think? Rubbish line? Yeah... I think so too, but I'm still going to use it! You'll understand... when we get around to series 3 - episode 18, what the line actually means, heck even before that if I decide to be kind and give a script extract. But I'm afraid not today, because I haven't actually written it... and because I haven't written it, then it can't be seen. You see how this works? Yeah, cool! Plus if I put the next line it will give way to much away! And I can't do that... because Charlie will never forgive - well she will, but then you might not see the episode at all! So yeah.

I'm going to stop talking and boring you now, I'll go, cause I'm talking to Charlie on MSN.

Thank you and goodnight,

Abi x

Flying High

The pilot episode was thought of when we started talking about Charlie getting lost in the forest. Abi thought this idea would be great for the first episode.

Episode one is probably the best in the series as we both wrote it, and they always turn out the best. We are really looking forward to filming it, as it will be fun to go to the forest and film, but we're not going to tell you to much about the episode, as that would just be mean! But a very important character in this series makes his first appearance in this episode and Jennifer and Bernie start to develop their characters and put that across to the audience.

The Pilot episode sets the tone for the show and future episodes to come, so we've worked especially hard on this episode to make sure it's up to standard.

(Hehe... I'm freaking Abi out, ohhhh happy days XD)

Here is a sneak preview of the episode:

BERNIE
WAIT!

JENNIFER
What?!

BERNIE
Some kid could have dropped that!

JENNIFER
You’re right.

Thanks kid, you’ve saved our lives.

BERNIE
WAIT, STOP!

JENNIFER
Ugh, what this time?

BERNIE
The kid might want it back!

JENNIFER
Oh, boo-hoo!

BERNIE
Yeah, but it could be a really little kid, who really wants it back, he might come and look for it.

JENNIFER
I’m sure his Mum will buy him another one!

BERNIE
Maybe we could lure him here with it, and then he can show us the way out.

JENNIFER
Bernie… it’s a kid, not a dog!

BERNIE
True.

We could take it to the lost and found!

JENNIFER
Yeah, we could take it to one of those lost and found places that give you ten days and if no one comes for it within that time you have it back, and then after the ten days we’ll be able to eat it.

Bernie is smiling and nodding while Jennifer is talking.

JENNIFER
Oh wait, one flaw with that plan.

BERNIE
What’s that?

JENNIFER
We’ll be dead.

AND THEN.

Oops. Sorry. We lost the rest of the script. Looks like you're going to have to wait until it's released =P

That's our personal favourite bit of the episode, so please comment and tell us what you think. We love it, and we think you will too!

We hope we have bored you immensely.

Come back soon for more craziness from Abi and Charlie xx

My 2 AM Inspiration... and How I Lost It...

A lot of writers come out at night. We're a lot like badgers. I slept all day today so I'm spending the entire evening feeling like I've just finished my 9th cup of expresso.

When I am like this, I find I get the most inspiration for episodes. Tonight, I got the best inspiration ever. Alas, there is one problem with my genius idea.

I forgot it.

I have been sat here at my flickering laptop screen now for the past 10 minutes trying to think of my idea. I really should write it down when I have an idea, then I won't be stuck in such a literature rut.

I would just like to say thank you to all the lovely reviewers on Link Referral.com that gave us such wonderful reviews for our blog. Even though we've only had it up since Tuesday it's been lovely to know you're all enjoying it :D

We have finally decided on the theme tune for the show, it's going to be Smash Mouth's All Star. It's a really fun song and we thought it would be fitting for the personalities of Jennifer and Bernie.

It's amazing, we came up with the idea for Me..and the Other One in December '09, and it's now April '10 and we are already on series 3! I think we are going to have to go through the episodes together and make some changes to some of the episodes, because you're never finished re-writing, there is always something not quite right. I was reading Episode 2 of Series 2 today, the second series is probably the one I most looking forward to filming. Now, I know what you are thinking, 'Are we ever going to get to see the show?' Yes, you are. We have not set a date for filming yet, as many things are happening in our personal lives, but once we have filmed a couple of episodes, we will have them up on the website for you all to enjoy. Of course you have to be a member to watch the show, so sign up now while it's free!

I better go now and stop boring you all.

Have a good night/morning/afternoon!

The idea...

Me and Charlie first came up with an idea for a TV show in January 2009, but this was not Me... and The Other One. This was our original show called 'The Casebook Of Alisha and Daisy' I was meant to play Alisha and Daisy was played by Charlie. This show was a crime show, and at first, writing a crime show was fun, but we stopped being able to come up with different ideas.

This is why we changed our minds and decided to write a comedy show! With Me... and The Other One you could never properly run out of ideas. I mean if you wanted to write about Bernie running through a forest screaming "BOOYEAH!" then you can, unlike a crime show.

Things happen in this show that could not have happened in 'The Casebook' so I'm glad we changed it and are now writing Me... and The Other One. Although, you will be able to see a little bit of what we wrote in The Casebook in the specials we are having from series 2 onwards, but that's all I'm saying about that!

Right now, I am trying to write down my idea for episode 18 while watching ER, but that isn't coming very well so I think i'm going to try something else! I think you will really enjoy Me... and The Other One just as much as me and Charlie are going to have when we film it. When we are filming, I will blog whenever I have a free minute so you can keep up with what we are doing, when we are doing it! I hope you have fun reading and please come back!

Thanks so much, check back again soon and have a nice day!

Abi xx

Luxurious Lilo of Ladybeam

Okay so this post isn't exactly about the show, sorry viewers, but I just couldn't not show you my cute little dog, Lilo, in action today.

All About the Other One

Being a writer isn't easy. Especially when you are a script writer. You're constantly being pushed for new material, soon your work becomes dry and un-original. You lose your touch. You then lose your job and are left packing bags in ASDA.

That's why I think it's important for writers to take breaks from their chosen subjects. Obviously I don't mean stop writing completely, writers need to practice everyday. What I mean is, if for example you are writing a book abd you are having trouble thinking of ideas, stop writing the book for two weeks. Don't read it, don't add anything to it. Stay away from it. After two weeks you can go look at it again with an open mind. When re-Reading your piece, questions are running through your head, "why on earth did I put that?!" and more.

Why am I telling you all this? Well I've become like a drought, as far as writing "Me and the Other One". So I've had to stop writing it, I'm not going to look at any episodes we've written for two weeks. It's been a week, and I'm struggling. I'm dieing to go and look, start writing the show again but I just can't allow myself to.

So I was meant to tell you about my ideas for new episodes in today's blog but I can't. So instead, I will tell you about my character, Bernie.

Bernie Anne Totoula is a 17 year old girl who lives with her best friend Jennifer. How they formed their friendship is beyond me, they seem so different yet so simular all at the same time. How Bernie lives with Jennifer is beyond the human mind, (I apologise in advance, I will talk about the characters as real people and place them in real situations) it's not like I don't like Jennifer as a character, I just find her a bit forward. Not that being forward is a bad thing, I thi k it's good to be able to speak your mind in certain situations but not all the time...

I'm looking forward to filming the first series, it consists of six episodes, like a lot of british shows, and all last over thirty minutes. I will of course be blogging about everything that goes on. I will be telling you what's happening during read throughs, rehearsals, filming and during the editing period. So of course I would sign up for a RSS Feed if you want to be kept in the know about that's happening.

I should really let my associate, Abi do some talking. The problem is you might not be able to shut her up :P Although it's the same problem with me.

Thanks for reading! Charlie x

The Other One and Me

'What is Me and the Other One?' I hear you ask? Well, it is a show all about Jennifer and Bernie, two seventeen year olds in the 22nd Century. Yes, that’s right, the 22nd Century! 'Who are Jennifer and Bernie?' I also hear you ask, well, they are the main characters of this show… and this blog!

"This show is filled with situations that will make the audience laugh, cry and sometimes make you want to go "NO, WHY'D YOU DO THAT?" But before we get to that, here are a few things about our characters!"

"Jennifer (Me) is played by Abi. Jennifer is a cool and confident character, always trying to play tricks on her friends. Bernie (The Other One) is played by Charlie. She is the so called 'calm' one of the pair and is always trying to keep Jennifer out of trouble, taking the mother role of the show."

'So what will you be blogging about?' I hear you ask. Well, we'll be blogging about everything to do with the show. We'll be blogging while trying to come up with ideas, while we're writing episodes, doing read-throughs and while we're on the set! So you can expect a lot of blogs to come!

We might even ask you for advice and ideas! Stay tuned! Abi & Charlie x
