All About the Other One

Being a writer isn't easy. Especially when you are a script writer. You're constantly being pushed for new material, soon your work becomes dry and un-original. You lose your touch. You then lose your job and are left packing bags in ASDA.

That's why I think it's important for writers to take breaks from their chosen subjects. Obviously I don't mean stop writing completely, writers need to practice everyday. What I mean is, if for example you are writing a book abd you are having trouble thinking of ideas, stop writing the book for two weeks. Don't read it, don't add anything to it. Stay away from it. After two weeks you can go look at it again with an open mind. When re-Reading your piece, questions are running through your head, "why on earth did I put that?!" and more.

Why am I telling you all this? Well I've become like a drought, as far as writing "Me and the Other One". So I've had to stop writing it, I'm not going to look at any episodes we've written for two weeks. It's been a week, and I'm struggling. I'm dieing to go and look, start writing the show again but I just can't allow myself to.

So I was meant to tell you about my ideas for new episodes in today's blog but I can't. So instead, I will tell you about my character, Bernie.

Bernie Anne Totoula is a 17 year old girl who lives with her best friend Jennifer. How they formed their friendship is beyond me, they seem so different yet so simular all at the same time. How Bernie lives with Jennifer is beyond the human mind, (I apologise in advance, I will talk about the characters as real people and place them in real situations) it's not like I don't like Jennifer as a character, I just find her a bit forward. Not that being forward is a bad thing, I thi k it's good to be able to speak your mind in certain situations but not all the time...

I'm looking forward to filming the first series, it consists of six episodes, like a lot of british shows, and all last over thirty minutes. I will of course be blogging about everything that goes on. I will be telling you what's happening during read throughs, rehearsals, filming and during the editing period. So of course I would sign up for a RSS Feed if you want to be kept in the know about that's happening.

I should really let my associate, Abi do some talking. The problem is you might not be able to shut her up :P Although it's the same problem with me.

Thanks for reading! Charlie x
